“Sir” Thomas Padgett crossed the rainbow bridge on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 17 years old with his sister and mother by his side. He passed peacefully surrounded by the love of his family.
In life, Thomas was very kind and sociable. He loved meeting new people and always wanted to be by someone’s side.
Thomas was born on May 1, 2003 and was purchased from a local pet store in Kokomo at the time called Pocket Pet. I begged and begged for a cat for months and finally convinced my parents to at least go look at the kittens available. While at the pet store I was intrigued by the kittens climbing the walls of the cage that they were kept in but my mother’s eyes fell upon a tabby kitten laying in the corner of the cage who couldn’t care less if he was chosen or not. That was our Thomas.
We brought him home that day and he stayed that docile throughout his whole life. Whenever we would find ourselves exceptionally stressed we would always say we should take a page out of Thomas’s book as nothing ever could phase him.
Something Thomas did that we would always boast about was how when we came back home from work or a day out he was always there to greet us at the door as he missed having the company of his family so much.
Thomas’s favorite activities included lounging and napping in bed, eating treats and little soups, and drinking water from the faucet. From the time he was a kitten up until the very end he kept the same toy mouse as it was the only toy he ever played with.
Thomas is survived by his mother, Diana Padgett, his father, Michael Padgett, his brother and sister, Tyler and Taylor Padgett, and his kitty sister and friend Mia.
