Timothy Wayne Bitner

Timothy Wayne Bitner, age 62, of Kempton, passed away peacefully at his home in Kempton on Saturday, September 17, 2022, with his loving family by his side. Tim was born on May 11, 1960, in Tipton, Indiana to his parents, Max & Dorothy (Rogers) Bitner.

Tim was a graduate of Tipton High School, class of 1979.  He worked several years at Janus Development and New Horizons in housekeeping.  He also volunteered at the Kempton Volunteer Fire Department. Tim was a member of the Kempton Christian Church.

Tim really enjoyed being outdoors.  He walked his dog daily and loved to mow the grass.  In his free time, he could often be found reading books.  He listened to Joel Osteen every weekend, reading along in his bible. He also like to listen to music, country and gospel being his favorites.  He loved to listen to The Spirituals, not only were they a wonderful band full of praise for our Father in Heaven but they were also family.  His faith was very important to him, and we rejoice knowing that he is with his Lord and savior. 

Tim was a very loving and caring person.  He was a determined man, always pushing himself to be as independent as he possibly could.  Tim was always happy and would spread his joy to others just by being around him. 

Those left to carry on Tim’s legacy of love are his siblings, Connie Chriswell, Robyn Hamilton, Amanda (Wyatt Hale) Bitner; special friend, Erica Allman; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Tim was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, Max & Dorothy Bitner and his sister, Nancy Bryant.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Tim will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Noon at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home, located at 314 N. Main St. in Tipton, with Pastor Mark Morecraft officiating. A visitation for family & friends will take place prior to the service from 10:00am – Noon at the funeral home.  Burial will take place at Kempton Cemetery.
