Trudy Howery-Skinner Obituary

Trudy Lee Howery-Skinner

Trudy Lee Howery-Skinner, age 60, of Tipton entered into her eternal rest on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 after a brief illness. Trudy was born on December 21, 1959 in Anderson, IN to her parents, Cecil Bruce Edgell & Geraldine (Burris) Edgell.

Trudy attended Madison Heights High School, and graduated in the class of 1977. Trudy was an extremely hard working woman, despite her small stature she held down some very physically demanding jobs through the years to make ends meet for her family.  She most recently was employed at Industrial Dieletrics, Inc., where she served as the local union representative. Trudy's top priority in life was creating a loving home for her sons. Being a single mom, she did her best to provide a good life for her kids, making many sacrifices along the way. What Trudy's sons will cherish most about their mother is how she never went a day without saying, "I love you", and then how all of her actions followed to make those words completely true...she was so dependable! She encouraged her children daily to work hard, study hard, and make the most out of every opportunity that life brings. Trudy was the mom who took the time to teach her sons how to dance, do laundry, cook, keep the house clean, and mow the yard the right way. Most importantly, Trudy took the time to teach her sons how to be gentlemen! Her nurturing heart has made them the men they are today and they are so thankful for the gift their mother was, and will always be, in their lives!

In Trudy's spare time, you may have found her knitting, canning, gardening, or spending time with her animals;  she was a big animal lover. Trudy was also a great friend to anyone that needed her. She always put other people's needs ahead of her own. She wasn't perfect, but she did her best everyday to make her family and friends feel loved, and for that their hearts are eternally grateful! Truly, her work ethic was only overshadowed by her selfless spirit! Trudy will be so greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her!

Those left to carry on Trudy’s legacy of love are her Sons, Troy (Shanna) Widener and Ryan Howery; Sisters, Renee Mraz, Theone Goodnight, and Cheryl Kerr;  Brothers, Kevin Edgell and Kent Edgell;  Grandchildren, Evan Widener and Ethan Widener; Companion, Wes Hunter, along with his 2 children, Jesse Hunter (Kristen Stiner) and Julie (Tony) Osbon; and 11 grandchildren.

Trudy was preceded in death by her Parents, Cecil Bruce Edgell & Geraldine (Burris) Edgell; and her Husband, Randy Skinner.

A funeral service celebrating Trudy’s life will be held on Monday, June 29, 2020 at 1pm at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home, located at 314 N. Main St. in Tipton with Pastor Chris Ellis officiating.
