Twyonna Deckard, 62, of Tipton, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 30, 1963, in Paragould, Arkansas, to Walter and Carolyn (Micenhamer) Stokes.
A graduate of Tipton High School, Twyonna dedicated many years of service as the Head of Housekeeping at Tipton Hospital. She was also a faithful member of Kempton Missionary Baptist Church.
Twyonna was a strong-willed and fiercely loving woman whose determination carried her through life with independence and grit. Beneath her headstrong nature was a deeply caring heart that treasured those closest to her. More than anything, she adored her family, especially her granddaughters, with whom she shared a truly special bond. Whether spending time with them, tending to flowers, or admiring her beloved pink petunias, Twyonna found joy in life’s simple and beautiful moments.
She will be deeply missed by her son, Nathan Bledsoe; daughter, Jammie Wray (Anthony); granddaughters, Eva Fey Deckard and Keiara Yeung; brother, Robin Stokes (Debbie); niece, Amber Bushong; great nephew, Trenton Sanders; and her lifelong best friend, Kandy Stahl.
Twyonna was welcomed into Heaven by her parents; and her grandparents, Veda and Arnold Stokes and Nettie and Claud Micenhamer.
A graveside service to honor Twyonna’s life will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Fairview Cemetery in Tipton, with Pastor Jimmy Hunt officiating.
Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home is honored to serve the Deckard/Stokes family in their time of need. Please feel free to leave an online condolence or share a special memory of Twyonna with her family on her tribute wall.
