Vickie Turner Obituary

Vickie Lee (Dautrich) Turner, 80, of Elwood passed away peacefully at St. Vincent Hospital (Indianapolis) on Tuesday June 16, 2026 following a brief illness. She was born on November 20, 1945 in Hamilton County to her parents, Cloy and Betty (Reckner) Dautrich. Vickie was well known for the love and devotion she gave to her entire family, friends, strangers and all of her neighborhood critters.

Many will remember Vickie from her years of bartending at "My Favorite Place" and "Silver Dollar". She had a gift for making people feel welcome. Vickie was always kind, and treated everyone she met with the same level of importance. Vickie was a genuine woman, and appreciated that quality in others. If she was your friend, you were blessed! Vickie absolutely adored her grandkids and was unbelievably proud of each of them. Christmas will not be the same without her. It was her favorite holiday, and every year she showered her family and friends with so many delicious treats. Vickie had a very loving and giving spirit, she will be missed greatly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Vickie’s legacy includes daughter Cindy Barbee of Indianapolis, and sons Johnny Howey of Elwood and Jerry (Alicia) Macke of Frankton and Step-daughter Debra (Michael) Duchateau of Crossville, TN. 3 siblings Naoimi (Roger) Malston of Hobbs, Margret Courter of Atlanta, and Conrad (Brenda ) Dautrich of Frankton. 11 Grandkids:  Jeremy, Amber, Keaton, Steven, Brandon, Josh, Jake, Sophia,  Anna, Preston, and Ashlyn.  9 Great-Grandkids:  Logan, Kaylee, Matt, Ashli, Maizie, Ezra, Kingston, Ella & Levi.  Several nieces and nephews and special friends.

Vickie was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Gary Turner (longtime companion), Keith Howey (Son), Billie Joe Rich (Son), Daniel Turner (Stepson), David Turner (Stepson), Larry Dautrich (Brother), & Michael Dautrich (Brother)
