William Stainbrook, age 85, of Windfall, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 30, 2019, following a brief illness. He was born on January 16, 1934 in Tipton County to Raymond & Esta (Andrews) Stainbrook.
William graduated from Sharpsville High School in 1952. He also proudly served in the United States Army from 1955-1957. William attended business college, and had many trusted jobs reflecting his education. He worked for Kroger Corporate office, as well as T & T Auto as an accountant and bookkeeper. William also worked for many years as an accountant & auditor for the Internal Revenue Service.
William lived a quiet life. He was fiercely independent, and enjoyed staying on schedule, and keeping structure and organization in all aspects of life. Since his retirement, he has started each day at Faye’s Northside Café. William and his lifelong friend, Elbert Harper had breakfast together every morning at 4:45 a.m. William was a special person in the eyes of many people. He had a very kind soul, and gentle spirit. He was a private man, yet he was also very social. He was a trustworthy friend, and was always willing to lend a listening ear to his family and friends. William loved to care for others. He was always finding ways to be generous, giving and comical. His family will miss so many things about him; especially his scatter mix and his hilarious rhymes, but they will mostly miss William, for the amazing man he was. It’s safe to say William will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him!
Those left to carry on William’s legacy of love are his sister, Margaret Coachman; niece, Juanita (Rocky) Sears; great nieces & nephews, Darrell (Alisha) Sears, Jennifer (Shad) Smith, & April (Randy) Slavey; great-great nieces & nephews, Autumn, Luke, Shai, Connor, Summer, Dylan & Dakota; great-great-great nieces & nephews, Jaylah, Parker, Paityn & Tobias; and nieces, Lois Miller & Deanna “Dena” Fuller.
